The Mediaeval Walk

email here

We start on top of a river near to the Ancient Blackfriars Monastery looking at the beautiful "wedding cake" church of St Bride's and the glorious spire of St Martin within Ludgate (both by Sir Christopher Wren).

Dive into the old lanes of King Alfred's London to the King's Wardrobe and walk to the College of the heralds. See where the barons and nobles had their houses and harbours, find out the truth about Sir Richard Whittington and his "cat".

Pass the Great Fire to the church where Jack Cade battled and finish at Pepys' old church, one of the few pre-fires ones left in the city and emerge to the scaffold- final destination of so many heroes and villains.
